FREE´KEND: MODEM

Modem is a Helsinki-based synth-pop duo that fabricates dystopias of the past and future, questioning the possibilities of media and human communication. The band started as a simple experiment with vintage synthesizers and drum machines which eventually turned into haunting, danceable music. Inspiration was found from minimal electronics and new wave as well as Italo disco and film soundtracks from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Before MODEM takes the stage at 22:00, The Original Free’kend, a freeride skiing event, will host a prize-giving ceremony at Camp. MODEM will kick off immediately after the awards, so make sure to arrive on time. After the performance, the night continues with a Free’kend disco, courtesy of Old Schule After Ski Schule.
The evening welcomes all music enthusiasts who haven’t participated in Free’kend as well.
Tickets can be purchased for 12 € + cloakroom fee of 3 € from the Liveto ticket shop. At the door, tickets will be available for 15 € + a cloakroom fee of 3 €, if any remain. The ticket is included in the Free’kend event pass and the three-race competition pass.
